Pensions Seminar acclaimed as 'Invaluable'
Globally renowned pensions expert Steve Bee delivered an update
on the latest reforms with guidance acclaimed as 'invaluable' by
those attending.
The Sydney Charles seminar, saw the Government adviser and high
profile media speaker advise corporates of the staggering and
concerning repercussions of the imminent changes to introduce
compulsory pension enrolment in the UK for all employers.
Some 50 delegates listened to his highly detailed account of
pensions legislation in the UK from the 1950s until the present
day. 'Make no mistake. The changes that come in from this year are
the most radical in a very long list of schemes stretching back
half a century,' he said.
The basis of the seminar was to make business professionals with
UK links aware of the implications of the compulsory enrolment
scheme. Attendees said the information was 'a real eye opener' as
to the broad effect of the radical changes.
Steve Bee's innovative lecture style - in which he animatedly
uses acetate slides to convey detailed facts and figures about his
specialist subject - has been acclaimed globally. His expertise has
also led to regular appearances on Panorama, Newsnight and BBC
news.
His address to the local audience prompted a lively question and
answer session, with some delegates staying on to talk to him in
detail about specific technical queries.
Sydney Charles Chairman Philip Lepp said he was delighted with
the response. 'Our focus in business generally is to provide
services and information on complex areas in a clear and cogent
way. To be able to do that, you need to have a very clear
understanding of the business area and, just as with our financial
advisers and insurance consultants, Steve was able to take a hugely
complicated subject and present it in a highly relevant way.'
Sydney Charles UK, in conjunction with Steve Bee, have developed
a specialist software solution in order to assist with the complex
record keeping and compliance issues required as part of the
compulsory enrolment system. SC advisers also have expertise in
setting up the pensions required. 'We are updating seminar
delegates on solutions and anyone else who would like to know more
about this invaluable software or the pension changes in general
should contact John Dangerfield on
John.Dangerfield@sydneycharles.co.uk,' said Mr Lepp.
He concluded that feedback from the event was extremely
positive, confirming Sydney Charles' belief that this important
topic merited a local seminar.
